Q: regarding this 2 pc. plastic hook without tongue -- how does it attach to bungee cord -- and is it used with rubber cord.. 1/4 "diameter rubber cord?
A: This 2 pc plastic hook uses a ferule to press down 2 teeth into the cord to hold it. It takes 1/4" bungee cord. I'm not sure how well a rubber cord will work.
I'm trying to replace some lost cord assemblies (I still have one). These hooks look identical to the hooks on the cord I still have. My hooks, assembled have an overall length of 1-3/4"(45 mm). The cord connecting the two hooks measures 3/16" (5 mm) in dia. and is 13-1/4" lg (relaxed) plus what's inside the hooks. The cord is also black in color.
Will these hooks work with 3/16" dia. cord? If not, do you have some similar hooks and cord to what I currently have?
A: 3/16" cord will work, but I'm not sure if it will work well enough for your project. The cord is smaller then the 1/4" opening and will need to be bent in half and pressed in to the hook.
